Teaching in a digital era
Teaching in a digital era
I look upon the transformation in education sector with amazement and excitement on how things have changed so rapidly. The revolution has profoundly effected education at all levels from kindergarten to university levels, whether we talk about hybrid learning, blended learning environment, smartboards, flipped classrooms or digital libraries. To handle all these changes in an ever changing digital era, a teacher needs a strong foundation of her theoretical and practical knowledge along with skills of technology by her side to leave a mark on the young minds and keep them engaged and engrossed in their learnings.
Collaboration has become a norm of the society where exchange of information and skills is a must. With greater emphasis on critical and creative thinking skills, a teacher's role has changed from transmitter of knowledge to management of online skills and behaviour of her students, content creator and innovative use of technology to enhance the teaching learning process in her classrooms.
For introducing Experiential learning, teachers have even converted their own kitchens into mini laboratories for satisfying curiosity of their students to provide them some hands- on experience in remote online teaching. It has been a time to learn, relearn and unlearn to match with the pace of changing educational environment.
Happy Learning and Growing for All !!!!!
